The coaxial design incorporates a center-mounted tweeter with swivel capability for optimum sound imaging. The speaker frames are made of high temp plastic material that has corrosion free and 400 Hr. UV stable properties. The grilles are high temp plastic material, which meets all ASTM standards for UV stability to 400 Hr. accelerated testing. The cone material is high temp polymica material with a butyl rubber surround, both of which combine for high quality sound reproduction. The damper material is a synthetic waterproof material that resists mildew and the effects of moisture. These speakers feature voice coils crafted from high temp Kapton and wound with flat CCA wire. The voice coil leads are extra large gauge tinsel sealed with a silicone jacket. The solder terminations are coated with silicone sealer to prevent corrosion, and are gold plated. The new plastic composite injection molded frame is naturally non-corrosive and the composite material is 400Hr. UV stable. The new motor structure utilizes a vented "T" shaped pole piece and a bumped back plate for deep excursion and enhanced bass performance. The entire motor structure is sealed with a 400Hr. UV stable plastic cover. New gold plated binding posts compliment the new structure and are directly frame mounted. A new plastic grille assembly is made of high temp polypropylene and is designed to be 400Hr. UV stable and corrosion free.
